June 1 A Baroque theme as history takes centre stage at the El Zacatin arts and crafts market in Bullas
The June artisan market in Bullas features a historical reenactments of the moment Bullas was awarded the title of "villazgo" in 1689
Bullas is hosting its monthly El Zacatín artisan market on Sunday June 1 between 9.00 and 14.00 in the squares around the Plaza Vieja and Plaza del Castillo and along Calle San Antón.
In 1689, Carlos II signed a Royal Privilege in which he granted Bullas the title of “Villazgo”, and this officially came into force the following year. This historic event is recreated at 11.30 and 13.00 at the latest edition of the El Zacatín arts and crafts market in the town, which is being held on the morning of Sunday June 1.
On top of this, of course, there will be the usual large array of varied stalls and stands and live demonstrations of leather work, providing a great morning out in the north-west of the Region of Murcia. At the same time, there are plenty of opportunities to sample the local DOP Bullas wines!
This is the oldest regular artisan market in the Region of Murcia, dating back to 1944, and always offers a wide range of traditional artisan crafts and gastronomic goodies. There is plenty of parking in the streets nearby and the market is easy to find, the main route off the motorway running straight to the central plaza.
