May 16 to 18 Pozo Aledo fiestas in honour of San Isidro Labrador
A full weekend of food, song, dance and processions in San Javier
Pozo Aledo in San Javier pays tribute to its beloved patron saint, San Isidro Labrador, whose feast day falls on May 15, during an action-packed weekend filled with engaging activities designed to foster tradition and togetherness.
Here's what you can expect on May 16, 17 and 18:
Friday May 16
21.00: The official opening of the fiestas with a buffet dinner and the election of the Queens of the Dance (children’s and adults’), with live music from Nueva Ruta.
Saturday May 17
9.00: Get the blood circulating with a zumba session.
11.00: Tu parque o el mío, this regular San Javier activity comes to Pozo Aledo for the fiestas.
12.00: 3x3 indoor football tournament, starting with under 14s at 12.00 and then over 14s at 16.00.
14.00: Barbecued meat for all, portions 2 euros each + drink.
16.00: The great Pozo Aledo desserts competition!
21.30: Concert, “La Década de tu Vida”.
Sunday May 18
9.00: A community breakfast of migas and morcilla black puddings. Tickets 1 euro.
10.00: Car rally, with breakfast for those exhibiting.
14.00: Community paella, tickets 2 euros + drink.
16.30: Parchís prize-giving followed by a charity raffle.
19.30: Mass is followed by a procession in honour of San Isidro Labrador.
The procession is followed by firecrackers to mark the end of this year’s fiestas.
