Cooler temperatures and possible rain before a brighter weekend: Alicante weather forecast August 27-30
A cooler Friday and possible rain along the coast will bring a change in conditions before sunshine returns for the weekend

We are heading towards the final weekend of August, and the weather is set to take a bit of a turn before settling down again.
Thursday will bring another hot day across Alicante Province, with temperatures reaching 37°C in the south. However, Friday looks quite different, with temperatures dropping and some light rain possible, particularly along the coast during the morning.
So, if you have plans for the next few days, Friday is the one to keep an eye on. Here is the daily breakdown for Alicante Province from Thursday, August 27 to Sunday, August 30:
Thursday August 27
Thursday will be another warm and mostly sunny day across Alicante Province, although some cloud will build inland during the afternoon.
Temperatures will reach 37°C in Orihuela, making it the hottest day of the four-day forecast. Elche will reach 35°C, while Alcoy is forecast to reach 34°C. Alicante city and Dénia will both reach 32°C.
Winds will be light and variable during the early and later parts of the day, becoming southerly around midday and moderate along the coast.
Friday August 28
Friday brings a noticeable change in the weather, with cloudy intervals and the possibility of some light rain, particularly along the coast.
AEMET says the rain could extend further inland, although any showers away from the coast are expected to be more isolated. Skies should become clearer towards the end of the day.
Temperatures will also drop, with Alcoy falling to a maximum of 28°C. Alicante, Dénia, Elche and Orihuela will all reach around 30°C.
Winds will be light from the west at first, with occasional stronger winds, before becoming light and variable during the second half of the day.
Saturday August 29
Saturday should bring a return to much calmer conditions, with mostly clear skies expected across the province. Temperatures will be slightly lower along the central coast, while inland areas will see a small rise or little change. Alicante and Dénia are forecast to reach 30°C, with Elche reaching 31°C and Orihuela 32°C. Alcoy will also reach 30°C.
Winds will be light and variable at the beginning and end of the day, with easterly winds becoming more noticeable after lunch.
Sunday August 30
Sunday looks set to be another largely clear and settled day, with temperatures starting to edge upwards again in some inland areas.
Alcoy and Elche will both reach 32°C, while Alicante and Dénia are forecast to reach 31°C. Orihuela will again be the warmest of the main locations in the forecast, with a high of 34°C.
Winds will be light and variable, with easterly winds around midday.
Also, it is worth keeping in mind that the Saharan dust has not moved on, so any rain that does fall could well be muddy rain.
All in all, though, it looks like pretty typical weather for the end of August, with hot sunshine, a chance of some rain and temperatures gradually starting to ease as we head into September.
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Alicante this week:

Thursday August 27: Min 18; Max 37°C
Friday August 28: Min 17; Max 30°C
Saturday August 29: Min 16; Max 32°C
Sunday August 30: Min 18; Max 34°C
