It has been confirmed that there will be organised sports and entertainment activities on the beaches of Cartagena municipality this summer, as the City Council has put out to tender a contract promoted by the Department of Sports to promote physical activity and improve health in coastal areas.
The contract, which covers the implementation, development, technical management, coordination, execution, evaluation and promotion of sports activities, will be carried out during the months of July and August. The planned activities include yoga, pilates, aquagym and gymnastics, all of which will be carried out under the supervision of qualified sports monitors.
The beaches belonging to the municipality of Cartagena stretch from the Playa La Caleta in the west in Isla Plana up to Cala del Pino in La Manga del Mar Menor and Punta Brava in Los Urrutias. It has not yet been revealed exactly which beaches the planned sports activities will be available on.
Sports services providers interested in managing the contract have until June 15 to submit a proposal. The contract will initially run for two years, with the possibility of an annual extension up to a maximum of three years.
