What to expect from the Murcia weather forecast this week: June 24-30
It will mostly be lovely, sunny and warm this week, with the chance of some windy episodes and more calima
The Region of Murcia is forecast to get sunshine and warm temperatures all week long, but the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has warned that more Saharan dust could be on the way midweek.
There will be slightly cloudy skies during the week, but also plenty of periods of glorious sunshine.
Temperatures will be climbing steadily across the course of the week, up from maximums of 25-30ºC on Monday June 24 up to 28-36ºC by Saturday 29. As ever, inland areas will be hotter during the day and on the coast it will be around 5 degrees cooler. At night, it is the coastal areas that have higher temperatures, of around 20-24ºC, while inland it will be 3 or 4 degrees cooler.

On Thursday June 27, Aemet forecasts “intervals of cloudy skies” and “clouds in the northern sierras of the region, where occasional thunderstorms are not ruled out”.
They also point to the “chance of dust in suspension,” also known as the ‘calima’ dust storm which lowers air quality and can leave dusty, sandy deposits on surfaces like cars, patios and outdoor furniture.
Also for Thursday, the windspeeds along the Mar Menor and around the Campo de Cartagena could reach their pinnacle for the week, at around 30kmh.
