Plenty of sunshine for Bonfire weekend: Alicante weather forecast June 20-23
The Bonfires of San Juan will be celebrated in Alicante this weekend under mostly clear, dry skies
The biggest festival in Alicante, the Bonfires of San Juan, culminates this coming weekend and all eyes are on the skies to ensure that the fireworks and city centre celebrations go off without a hitch.
There is a chance that the DANA which has been hanging over most of Spain all week could cause some instability along the Mediterranean coast on Thursday and Friday but for the most part, Alicante province can look forward to a few summery days of sunshine and bright, blue skies.
Thursday June 20
The last of the unsettled weather will linger on Thursday, with cloudy intervals and even a few scattered showers on the cards throughout the day. The temperatures will be ever so slightly cooler than earlier in the week.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Thursday
Alcoy: 14ºC to 28ºC
Alicante: 19ºC to 30ºC
Denia: 18ºC to 29ºC
Elche: 18ºC to 31ºC
Orihuela: 19ºC to 32ºC
Friday June 21
The skies will be much clearer on Friday and the day-time temperatures will begin to climb, especially inland, with less noticeable changes along the coast. A light wind from the west will be breezy in coastal areas.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Friday
Alcoy: 16ºC to 29ºC
Alicante: 19ºC to 28ºC
Denia: 20ºC to 28ºC
Elche: 18ºC to 30ºC
Orihuela: 18ºC to 32ºC
Saturday June 22
Mostly clear skies again on Saturday, although some high clouds could gather in the afternoon. The mercury will shoot up across the board, both during the day and at night, and the southeasterly wind will again feel much sharper along the coast.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Saturday
Alcoy: 17ºC to 32ºC
Alicante: 20ºC to 28ºC
Denia: 19ºC to 30ºC
Elche: 17ºC to 31ºC
Orihuela: 18ºC to 33ºC
Sunday June 23
Rounding off San Juan weekend, Sunday will be marked by cloudy intervals although there will be no rain for the main celebrations. Night-time temperatures will increase a little and the day-time temperatures will continue their steady climb.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Sunday
Alcoy: 18ºC to 30ºC
Alicante: 21ºC to 28ºC
Denia: 20ºC to 28ºC
Elche: 18ºC to 30ºC
Orihuela: 18ºC to 31ºC
