Location and history
Playa Flamenca lies on the eastern coastline of the Mediterranean Sea, just 4 kilometres south of Torrevieja, and covers 2.4 square kilometres of prime beachfront property.
Belonging to the jurisdiction of the Orihuela City Council, the town borders La Zenia to the south and to the west with the town of Villamartín.
To the northeast there is a natural area that extends 1.2 kilometres in the direction of the Punta Prima resort.
Its rich history begins in 1972, when a group of Dutch expats recognised its untapped potential and transformed it from a desolate, rocky terrain into a flourishing holiday retreat.
