Introduction to the La Torre Golf Resort
The La Torre development is an established golf resort built by Polaris World, with a steady static residential population compared to some of the others within the region. The resort has some bars and restaurants and a couple of commercial concerns in the town centre as well as a supermarket. These are not always open throughout the year as the population is higher during holiday periods and the summer months. There are plenty of services, markets and shops in nearby towns and villages.
There are two entry points manned by security guards, but for visitors or new arrivals the recommendation is to use the northern one on the C-3319 motorway between Murcia and San Javier, as there is an information point here. If it is unmanned the security guards themselves are willing and able to supply directions, information and advice: particularly useful if you are looking to visit someone on a certain street, all of which are named after fish. The difference between “Sturgeon Street” or “Red Sea Bream Street” can be a little confusing for the newly arrived renter, and the hotel reception and golf facilities are also useful ports of call.
Next to the southern entry gate is the King’s College International School, which is independent from the development.
The properties, over 2,500 in all, are a mixture of townhouses, apartments and villas, laid out around, and on the edge of, the beautiful 18 hole golf course, and set amongst well landscaped gardens and public areas.
From either entry point the hotel, town centre, golf clubhouse and restaurant area are clearly signposted; all of these are immaculately presented, and well cared for.
Sixteen community pools and nine children’s play areas serve residents, and there are a wealth of other facilities within an easy drive of the resort, including the Mar Menor and beaches of the Mediterranean coastline.
Located right on the motorway, La Torre Golf Resort is also a good springboard for visitors intending to see the rest of the Region of Murcia, with links to the Capital City of Murcia, historical coastal port of Cartagena, the woods and mountains of the Sierra Espuña and north-west, as well as the fertile valleys and plains which fill central Murcia.
The resort is just a 20 minute drive from the Region of Murcia International airport and around 1 hour from Alicante airport.
