Have the commercial centre and unbuilt plots of land been bought up on Las Terrazas de la Torre?
Reports that the shopping mall on the golf resort has been sold are as yet unconfirmed

There are rumours of the sale of the shopping centre on Las Terrazas de la Torre Golf Resort in Torre Pacheco, Murcia, but the identity of the buyer has not yet been formally revealed and the real estate agency charged with selling the property has not yet confirmed any sale.
Las Terrazas’ shopping centre has a supermarket, various units for businesses and a bar on its 3,111m2, is up for sale for 730,000 euros.
While estate agent Inmopolt admits there have been a lot of “interested parties”, including one notable and well-known local entrepreneur, the shopping centre is still listed on their website and no deed of sale has yet been signed.
There has been much speculation over what new businesses will be installed in the units of the shopping mall if and when it is sold, be they hairdressers, restaurants, pubs or other welcome local services for the resort.
The property currently belongs to the Sareb ‘bad bank’, which bought up many of the toxic assets of Polaris World resorts in the Region of Murcia when that company went bust in 2017.
New homes to be built on Las Terrazas?
Along with the commercial centre, several unbuilt plots of land have also been rumoured to be bought up imminently, ostensibly by the same purported buyer. The plots of land in question are mostly located on the opposite side of the Saurines golf course from where all the Las Terrazas de la Torre properties are currently located.
As such, and to the disappointment of some Las Terrazas residents, any projected sale of these plots will not mean the beginning of work to finally finish the so-called skeleton structures located at La Isla.
If a sale of these unused plots of land does go ahead, the building work will probably be a mix of apartments and villas, built to the specifications of the original 2010 construction plans of the resort. This is because the building specs are cemented by the ‘Plan Parcial’ that was agreed back then, and any changes to a Plan Parcial are difficult to get passed since they need approval from both the Community and from the relevant Town Hall, in this case Torre Pacheco.
One welcome knock-on effect that any sale and development of either the shopping centre or other unused plots around Las Terrazas would have is that it would likely increase the value of existing homes on the resort.
